Real Christmas Tree vs. Fake Tree?

Maybe because I didn't grow up with Christmas. Maybe it's because I like them huge, but to me it's a no-brainer. I love going and picking out a tree at the tree tents. It is stupidly stressful because if I'm spending between $150 and $200 on a tree, it better be fucking perfect. The asshats at Home Depot (which has the cheapest big trees by far) never know when they are getting new ones in, and don't even bother calling first, you can't get a person who knows anything. As I said, we like them BIG. 12 feet+ is hard to find! But once I get it in the house, I love the smell. I even love the sap and the needles. It's Christmas to me! I love the fact that my tree is different every year. I … [Read more...]

Making Me Clean

Starting on Monday is my motto with everything, not just dieting. I'm the queen of procrastination. I work way better under pressure, which is why I tend to write best after midnight when I want my post up the next morning. I'm also a bit of a slob and a pack rat. I have a cleaning lady once a week, and she just shoves my stuff wherever she can so she can clean beneath it. My bathroom counter is full. But I can't clean that up until I make room in my drawers and under the sink. Right now my drawers get stuck when I open them, and things fall on my toes when I open the cabinet under my sink. But when I start cleaning, I make it worse. I start emptying drawers to clean them...then I get … [Read more...]

Kitchen Clean Out

One of the parts of Weight Watchers 360 is "Spaces". The first thing they encourage you to do is clean out your pantry and refrigerator. Hide the good (but not good on Weight Watchers) stuff in opaque containers and have the stuff you SHOULD be eating front and center. I had shit that expired last summer! Pantry, fridge and freezer cleaned. BAM! I also went shopping and filled up the fridge with lots of fruits, veggies, egg whites, fat free cheese and lean meats. I'm doing my best to drink lots of water too. Considering the fact that I almost peed myself twice today, I must be doing a good job. Baby steps... … [Read more...]

On getting dressed……

I have been home with a sick kid for a week. A WEEK! Now my husband has the flu as well. Yay me. You know what that means? No nookie. No chauffeur. No guy to run out and get a few things. So yesterday, now that he is in bed, I finally had to run out and get a few things, and drive my healthy spawn around. I realized I hadn't left my house in 4 days. FOUR FUCKING DAYS! Which comfortably meant no bras for 4 days, no tight jeans for 4 days, no makeup for 4 days. That part was kind of nice. But I have to tell you, my house is a mess. WTF? I'm home, just on the computer from the minute I wake up till 3 am. I'm not sure what the hell I've been doing, but it sure as hell hasn't been personal … [Read more...]

Cleaning For The Cleaning Lady

I have always had a cleaning lady. Even growing up. Am I rich? No, not at all...even unemployed I would still have one. I'd eat spam before I got rid of her. My favorite day is the day I come home to a clean house, sheets changed, laundry folded. The amount of happiness that one thing gives me is worth any price. I SUCK at cleaning. I will start to put stuff away, then notice the drawer needs cleaning, dump the drawer, then get distracted and walk away leaving an even bigger mess. My ADD is so bad, I honestly have trouble putting away all the papers the kids bring home during the week.  I also don't deal with getting dirty...I have 3 boys in the house, toilets are gross. I don't get why … [Read more...]
