I did it. I bit the bullet and joined Weight Watchers. I am halfway in between two offices. Each are about 20 minutes away with no highway and lots of traffic. I tend to be late to everything, a lot. I was late to my wedding, and the scheduled c-section for my youngest son! I have joined the one on the other side of my city about 10 times. Never made it past week 5. Either I would have to skip a meeting, or was running so late I didn’t bother.
Also, I was the only non-senior citizen in the room. I go to the 12:30 meetings, and they all have white hair and a cane. (I live in Florida?nuff said).?When I was successful on WW in the past, it was at a satellite meeting close to home with a younger crowd.
So I noticed they opened a new location in the city/county next to me. My county is franchised. It’s old and yucky. This new store is a corporate store, built out to be a weight watchers store front. It’s open every day until 2:00. No excuses not to weigh in!
This place was gorgeous. What a difference! And the kit I bought is so cute. I just love stuff like this. And it came in three choices of colors. This, red, and black, white and fuchsia.
Half the shit I won’t use and didn’t need, but I wanted to get it because it was cute. I admit it. It comes with a 12 week planner. One of the reasons I went back to WW is the great app for phone and iPad. You will never find me without them so I might as well use them. So that’s a total waste. It comes with a cookbook. I don’t cook much, but I’ll try. A Success Handbook-I’ll read that. A fitness DVD sampler-I’ll do that. Stickers with points plus values. I may use that. A silicone measuring cup set-definitely will use. A cute measuring tape-my 7 year old already stole it, and some coupons.
I really like the bag, it’s like a laptop sleeve, and a great way to keep all of your WW stuff together. (Though they hide the weight watchers logo in the box when you get it.
I also came home with a shitload of snacks. I’m a snacker. So I might as well have things I can grab when I need to.
I have a LOT of points! (Well duh, the bigger you are, the more you get). 32 for the day! Here is the basic rundown of the Weight Watchers 360 program:
- All foods have a point value. You get a minimum of 26 points per day, depending on age, weight and height.
- You get 49 bonus points per week.
- You can earn more points with exercise.
- Fruits are free as are most veggies.
- They are very focused now on your spaces–keeping your spaces conducive to weight loss. Having your WW snacks front and center and the “bad stuff” hidden away or gone.
- They are also very focused on Routines, and making new habits.
I will do my best to follow the program. I am looking to add a tab to the blog with a daily shot of my WW tracker (under Daily Diet). Maybe publicizing it will keep me on track. But I don’t want it front and center of the blog, so I am working on making it a special section.
Who else is a Weight Watcher? Anyone? Even if you use another tracker, join me! Lets share successes, failures and hurdles together.
I cleared my schedule to get to the meeting on Friday. Hopefully I’ll make it on time.

What city in Florida, because that store is awesome! I tried WW before, but I have a hard time with sticking with anything. I want to go to a WW that looks like that though!

Boca Raton. I’m with you, I can’t get past a month! But I’m thinking since it’s out there, maybe that will help me. Plus, the open hours make excuses hard.

Wow! That looks nothing like where the meetings near me are held, ours is at the Senior Citizen Center. I’ve done WW and have been fairly successful, but then I quit because I get sick of counting points. Do you have an online option too? I have an app on my phone , I think it’s called Value Diary, and it’s pretty much the same as Weight Watchers. I’m thinking about going back to it, because my current “plan” of losing weight isn’t really working the best, and it’s really not much of a plan at all. Good luck with it, and I can’t wait to hear results: )

The thing is…I need accountability, and cheerleaders. I like that they reward you, even if it’s just stickers!

I’ve been on weight watchers a few times and I’ve really liked it when I do it! I was doing good the last time (down 25lbs) then they changed the meeting time on me and made it a half hour earlier and then my daughter started walking and welp, there went that! I also hit a plateau mostly because my fibromyaglia started acting up really badly (this always seems to happen when I hit a plateau) and I just don’t have the energy to make the right choices/track/cook. I really want to try it again but there are just no good meeting times near me! My friend though has lost 50lbs over the last 6mo or so so she is really motivating me to want to start it up again!

Danielle, this was exactly my issue. I have been told I have Lyme, fibro, Lupus….it’s all the same though. Exhaustion and pain all over!!! My problem was also my meeting place and times. The new one is not close either, but at least now I know that if I miss a meeting, they are open anytime to weigh me in, so NO EXC– USES for me!

As someone who has done WW for the past 4 years and have lost over 170lbs, I absolutely LOVE the program! You totally got this! 🙂 Oh and those Celebration Cake bars are AMAZING! By far my favorite bar ever!
If you’re looking for a yummy easy go to breakfast, try this:
1 packet of Vanilla WW Smoothie Mix
1 1/2 Cups milk
1/2 C to 1 C frozen blueberries
1 banana
1-2 handfuls of spinach (yes, spinach, its DELICIOUS!)
1 Celebration Cake bar, broken into smaller pieces
Throw it all in a blender and blend away. It’s my favorite smoothie and tastes like a blueberry muffin!

Brooke, you are my inspiration! I can’t wait for you to share your story here.
